About Us
The Mann Deshi Udyojika Private Limited Company was set up in 2019 to support rural women micro entrepreneurs by creating a platform for them to market and sell their products.
This company is a dream come true for the tens of thousands of women who are part of the Mann Deshi family.
Set up in 1996, Mann Deshi is dedicated to the economic empowerment of rural women. The Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank www.manndeshibank.com is our country’s first cooperative bank set up by and for rural women. It offers customised financial products for rural women and its clients are farmers, daily wage labourers, street vendors, and micro business owners.
The Mann Deshi Foundation www.manndeshifoundation.org runs Business Schools and Chambers of Commerce for Rural Women in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka and supports women to set up and run successful enterprises. It also has a Community Radio, Water Conservation Programme and a Sports for Development programme.
Mann Deshi has also facilitated a Farmer Producer Company for women farmers.
Our holistic model provides the skills, training, confidence, capital, and access to collectives, resources and markets so that rural women are empowered to make their own choices and be celebrated as equal and valuable members of their families and communities.
Together we have reached over half a million women and plan to reach one million women by 2024.
